What do the Merm armory and tool shed actually do?

Has anyone figured out how exactly they work? I know that they equip memes with helmets and tools respectively, but why is there an option to open them? Do we need to restock them? I get that it’s the first day of the beta, so I’m not upset that they crash the game. I’m just curious about the full extent of their functionality and use.

The axe is for normal merms it makes them harvest resources faster and let's them dig up stumps.

The helmet is a defense buff for warrior merms.

The game won't crash from them so long as the player doesn't try to open the crafts and just let the merms use them the tools can break though so they need to go back to the stations to restock.

I’ve just noticed that once the axes break merms won’t get another which makes me think the tool shed can run out and needs to be restocked

It does but sadly when it does we can't really do anything about it without crashing the server so I just hammer them and make another one as a temporary work around.

Idk last night when I was talking about brute forcing through the crashes the thing that kept crashing me was trying to open it there might have been other factors at play though?

Just too many items so i don't have to enter every command and find every prefab i need

I had mods completely turned off.

Based on this I'm going to assume there being 2 shards is what is causing the conflict.

the tier 1 dont crash the tier 2 crash

I wonder. Me personally only made 1-2 Craftmermhouses before the Skilltree because they only exist to become Merm King.

Now i would need to build extra Craftmerm because Guards cant pick the Tool.. isnt it even worth to build the extra craftmerm or is it same level as if you put the Ressources + a few extra in more Guardmerms? So i mean like, would for example 15 Guardmerms have same chopspeed then 10 Craftmerm? Yes yes i know you would still need to Dig alone but wow thats like no problem for me since i use Action Queue.

If you want a comparison of how big of a difference digging yourself makes look at videos showcasing how badly Maxwell beats Wurt at chopping wood. After having thought on it abit this tool makes it so Wurt is the fastest Wood harvester also it seems the tools make them finishing chopping and mining faster as well. If your fine without the boosted harvesting speeds it's definitely fine to skip the normal merm upgrade though.

Well yes i know the comparing between Max and Wurt speed, and thats one of my Problems with the Skilltree because EVEN if Wurt chopping is faster now, she needs 10000 Merms for that which means 10000 Ressources while Max can STILL do it from Day one ;)

That's the thing these tools make it so she can compete with just afew merms it seems the goal of these tools is to lower the overall amount of merms she needs to get things done which is a good idea when you get down to it. She'll need to build the station obviously but she should be able to compete with Maxwell as soon as she builds the station now using the merms the world starts with though I do need to do more testing to be absolutely sure.

Honestly I've been wondering that too sadly I haven't gotten an answer I will say though mutant merm guards seem to have 700 hp and with the combination of the helm and the king's defensive buffs they're durable enough to tank enraged dragonfly stomps and celestial champion's spin attacks I do plan to do some more extensive testing either later today or tomorrow though.

Please let me know if you find out the exact reduction though.

seems to be 30 percent and 50 percent respectively for basic armermry and the advanced one. (was anyone else hoping they would have weapons?)
