I literally have no idea what you're talking about. 
You clearly just want an easy out of the conversation. I mean this with absolutely no snark or malice, but you don't have to be disingenuous, i'm really not that invested, have a good night my friend!

Klei will continue updating dst until it’s no longe profitable to do so. This has barely anything to do with affinities. I can’t imagine blaming DST’s death in like 100 years or so on skill tree affinities and nothing else.

I wouldn’t be against affinities being more impactful but I understand why they aren’t because imagine trying to design new post rifts content while accounting for massive and game-changing affinities and skill tree perks. With the current affinity perks klei can easily develop content which will be enjoyable for everyone regardless of their affinities.

This is part of a bigger issue with the celestial portal, which allows you to re-spec skill points. This makes choice shallow, this makes "early game skills" and "switch skills", which have their value reduced to zero after some time. As i said, i have a lot of issues with skill trees, affinity is just one of them.

Being able to change your mind doesn’t make your choice shallow, especially considering it isn’t free and you can’t just go to the celestial portal whenever. You’re still missing out on the other affinities’ perks, even if you can swap to them later. Imagine if you couldn’t respec in game like elden ring or couldn’t change your equipment loadout in games like hollow knight strictly to “make your choices not shallow” like that actually means anything.

I accidentally forgot to include this in my original reply so I’m writing a separate one for this simply because of just how absurd this statement is. Yes, DST has a permadeath mode. That does not make it a roguelike! I feel like I shouldn’t even need to explain how the average 30 minute balatro run is completely incomparable to the average weeks-long commitment that is a dst world. Especially considering that dst doesn’t even have a win state like actual roguelikes.

Nobody says minecraft or terraria are roguelikes despite them also having permadeath modes. Calling DST a roguelike implies you actually know next to nothing about the game or just misunderstood the roguelike label (which is fine, genre names are kinda silly nowadays). I really hope your reasoning is the latter.

I said nothing about death of DST, moreover death because of poor affinity system.
Cmon people, if you can't even read and understand what i'm saying, how am i supposed to have a discussion. It's not like i write with google translate, where half of meaning is lost.
