Malbatross

I ve alredy had written 2 posts about the next update and i forgot these on both.

Please fix malbatross, as it is right now it has the worst spawning condition in the entire game, its not fun, its just dreadfull to spent an hour, praying that it will spawn as you fish its shoals.

Pearl could sell a lure that guranteed its spawn, or maybe, sunken chests coud have a malbatross calling wistle, that we could use to summon it anywhere on the ocean.

yeah, just make it so the sunken chests drop the malba spawner regardless of everything, in fact it could be 1 guranteed, and chance for 1 or 2 extras

It also both calls Mactusk and summons Deerclops in Winter. So a priority system is already there. If the player's near a shoal, it spawns Malbatross. If the player isn't near a shoal, it calls for Monkeys. Simple as.

The fix is right here. It's simple, yet it solves everything.

Make it so Shoals spawn with at least 1or2 heavy fish and you have your Frostjaw farm as well.

I hope not. The monkeys will be of enormous use because of the treasure they will carry. Malbatross has horrible loot, meaning there's no reason to keep summoning this creature.

Just- Just sail away from the shoal. Literally just sail a screen or two away from the shoal and you'll get your monkeys. That's the entire point.

I understand that you are asking for X, but the developers can bring Y. I don't know if I would like the risk.

What I really see about Malbatross complaints is for people who speedrun (which makes sense for those seeking that purpose). And for this specific purpose, hostile flare would be even worse.

I've already used several hostile flares and no Deerclops appeared. It was never a guarantee of anything.

Whenever I go to the place I reserved in my world to face the Malbatross, within minutes the giant appears and I defeat it. The Ocean Trawler Kit item is a solution for those who want this boss on a recurring basis.

But if any improvement comes to Malbatross, it will of course be welcome.

I don't think Malbatross has anything gated behind it, though? If you're going for all bosses, then you're already waiting on crystal deerclops, which means you're guaranteed the CC full moon. (Failing to summon is a separate annoyance. Would Klei make you choose one RNG to get around another? I guess we can't put it past them.)

If you're going for just Malbatross, then the challenge is whatever it is. Either rush full moon with Wickerbottom or try your luck with fishing.

I said in another thread, but I would love like a little setpiece in the ocean that was a small island with a big nest, that guranteed a Malbatross spawn if you interacted with the nest.

We would still have the shoal sea fishing chance to spawn it, but also having a guranteed location where you could force it to spawn would alleviate a lot of frustration. You can have a bunch of sunken ship set pieces spawn around the little island to help players find it. Tbh is too easy to amass botlegs with the trawler nets

10 boots per fight is insane

No thank you, I'd rather not constantly lose lures and bobbers. Just make it a guarantee that Malbatross spawns after catching, say, five deep bass at one of the special shoals that show up on the map. Easy fix.

Make full trawler nets in bass shoals guarintee it to spawn.

This would be extremely interesting tbh. Hope they do something like this
