Resources for lunar rift equipment take too long to gather compared to shadow rifts.

When you kill Fuelweaver and give dreadstones to charlie , you need to wait 5 days for shadow rift to open up. As soon as this happens you can go and kill ink blights which most of the time gives you enough resources to craft a void cowl , shadow reaper and a repair kit on your first clear, this process is repeatable every 3 days. The rift itself is always visible now too if you ever run out of pure horror.

But when it comes to lunar rifts you need to wait for them to open for 5 days , and then an extra 5 days for them to reach the next tier so they spawn brightshades. The resources you get from the first wave of brightshades is not nearly enough to make equipment even close to the shadow rifts if we assume we opened both rifts at the same time and farmed the resources as soon as possible.
On top of that if you decide to do the wagstaff quest by killing corrupted monsters (Crystal deerclops , possesed varg , armored bearger) This lowers the amount of brightshades you get even more , You can't really leave these for later either since deerclops only spawns in winter and despawns if you dont kill him. As things stands now you either go with the wagstaff quest and delay your lunar equipment for 20 or so days , or delay wagstaff quest and wait for a whole year if you manage to open lunar rifts in your first summer or at least the start of year 2, which is much easier now even if you play solo since you can finish pearl quests in a single trip in spring now.
Not to mention reaching and killing celestial champion takes much longer compared to fuelweaver.

I think brightshades should drop more loot or have their numbers increased. Maybe a way to force more brightshades to spawn would be nice too , feeding moongleam to lunar rift for extra brightshades in the next wave for example.
also players shouldnt be punished for doing extra work by killing corrupted monsters , at least making them drop brightshade husks too would make the whole process much more satisfying.

 

I found lunar resources are easier to obtain just because you can kill brightshades on your base and just collect brilliance from lunar rifts on the surface. It is not the case with shadow loot. You have to spend a lot of time to travel to ruins, wait for nightmare phase and kill mini boss, you also have to fight creature on the rift to get more pure horror, which is not the case with lunar rift.

While you get more resources from shadow rifts, you also have to work more for them

Brightshades are such a constant nuisance that I end up with more husks than I can even store, let alone use. A modest chance for Pure Brilliance might be nice but that's it.
