I'm not sure if that was always the intention, but that's how it's ended up and that's how the characters are/were named. Not sure though. Lore-wise, well, it's complicated for a couple reasons: Maxwell's name was William before he found the Codex. WX-78 and Webber were both human at some point, and so they both likely had different names (some of WX's audio files use the name Woodrow, which is why some people think that was their name). Wigfrid is called Wathgrithr in the files, as grm9 said, and her name is canonically not actually Wigfrid. Wickerbottom is a last name, her first name is unknown. Wheeler and Wagstaff are also last names, their first names are Maybelle and Robert respectively. So, basically, not every survivor's first name actually starts with a W, and even for those whose names do start with a W, it's complicated. 2 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
