WARBIS armors should analyze faster in certain circumstances.

Recommended Posts

The fancy new WARBIS gears gives you speed and dmg boost, I enjoyed the time using it in the beta. I wanna discuss about the value of WARBIS armor this time -

First, if you using WARBIS head + magiluminescence, the advantage is :

  • consistent 20% speed bonus when equiped.
  • gives a little light radius

In contrast, if you use WARBIS head + armor, you can get :

  • max 30% speed boost (10% more than magi)
  • 5 more planar defence

Overall there are kinda little difference between those 2 options. But unlike magi, the speed bonus WARBIS armor gives "resets" every time when you attack a different target, makes the speed bonus kinda inconsistent in many situations. Of course the magi is cheaper to get & use.

So I suggest to give more advantage to WARBIS armor set bonus : Faster analyzing speed. The biggest drawback of WARBIS armor set is due to their slow anayzing speed. It is almost impossible to draw their full potential if there's more than 2 creatures in combat which applies to most part of this game. So faster analyzing speed as set bonus would be a great incentive to utilize them. It is also thematically fitting, as its concept is wearable computers, wearing both at the same time could improve the caculating capacity.

Also, for non-boss creatures the analyzing speed should be faster. You need to wait "30" seconds to reach the max dmg and speed. Each stages require 10 seconds to ramp up, and the maximum stage is 4th. For hunting non-boss creatures this is ridiculously long time to wait. Even WX's bio scannalyzer takes less time when scanning non-boss creatures.

This situational buffs are very similar to recently introduced dreadstone armors.

The dreadstone armor's main advantage is self-reparing, and it is -

  • repair faster when both armor and helm is equipped (set bonus)
  • repair faster the wearer's sanity is lower (situational)

So like the dreadstone set, the WARBIS set can be -

  • Analyze faster when both armor and helm is equipped (set bonus)
  • Analyze faster when fighting with non-boss creatures (situational)

I feels like double the speed each case seems kinda reasonable. 7.5 seconds to reach 4th stage when fighting with non-boss creatures sounds just right.

I really like the concept and performance of new WARBIS gears, it is almost the same sensation of that momnet when klei gives the self-repairing ability to dreadstone sets! I'm looking forward to see more adjustments in the following beta weeks!

i would rather have each part of items from sets have distinct functionality that gets enhanced when the full set is worn (creating a bit of choice among what to make first or if you want to wear another piece of equipment that is not part of the set).

W.A.R.B.I.S could have its chest slot change its functionality into giving something else other than the exact same thing as the helmet.

it could be things like giving more protection against the analyzed target rather than damage, or maybe completely remove the movement speed from the helmet and damage increase from body armor and double the effect of the other on each.

then the set bonus could be enhancing the already existing functionality on each piece or maybe even a completely new effect like remembering half of the analyzing progress from each enemy or any other relevant effect.

I know this isn't really the place to ask this, but I'd like it if the brightshade armour's bonus could be looked at again, especially now that ya'll are adding warbis gear. Something like +10 planar damage could go a long way, since it'd make the brightshade staff way better than it's currently mediocre state. The insanity aura protection of the void cloak is at least kind of decent, but the damage reflection is pitiful, which is pretty silly given the body slot is more valuable due to it being the backpack slot.

that's already how it is, no?

from what I understood, helmet gives damage(5%-20%) and armor gives speed(7.5%-30%).

I've heard the warbis helmet needs to deal 4000 damage in order to acquire the full damage boost.

It depends on how long it's been focusing on a target. Whatever you've heard is nonsense.
