Recently i joined a random Klei server to try and complete all the steps in order to fight Celestial Champion. Now it wasn’t my first try at this, previously I stopped just at getting Pearls pearl because this alone takes a long time in a non-stop playthrough. However this time was special, because as I joined the world on day 1, all the players remarked about lunar island being generating RIGHT next to the poltar, which was the most amusing thing to happen.

After noticing the beauty of it I started my journey to the ruins for both the green and yellow staffs. In that time another wurt player named “Ducker” began making swamp base for both of us. Now mind that I never met them before, so it was really nice gesture. When I successfully claimed all the staffs from ruins I headed to surface to meet Ducker at their swamp, in which I explained my plan of obtaining the pears pearl. They agreed to help and so our journey started. I did the quest and they finished the moon stone event. We then proceed to go to the archives, which were very close to the cave entrance near our base. How lucky. The other thing I would like to address, is that trough out the most of it we were the only ones on the server. Only later 2 people joined as one stayed. Anyway, right after leaving we left the caves we used the astral detector for all the altar pieces and to find the all-so well known, Crab King. Then I proceeded to nuke his ass with bee mines, earning me the easiest crab king fight in my life.  When we gathered all the altar on lunar the storm happened and in that time two players, who have joined recently, were helping us out in your base. In the time I fought the crab, Ducker, “Mark” and Wendy player (I forgot their name) made the necessary gear to fight celestial champion. Going back to the moon storm, both me and Ducker then proceed to go through the most agonizing part of gathering all the items needed to summon the boss. When we were finished, we prepared ourselves and started the fight. First phase was chill, the second was tough cuz of the spiiin but the third was just brutal. We died a lot trying to beat that celestial freak and at the end both Mark and Wendy helped us out. Unfortunately Wendy died and left, but after me and Ducker met our demise Mark helped us out by bringing he additional armor to the fight. Finally, after almost 12 hour session, the Champion, was dead. And we could rest.

All in all, I’m glad I could meet Ducker, spend time and play with such awesome people. That’s what this was about really. But also killing final boss. :-P

Shout outs to Ducker for being a gud lad
~End :)

Wait, no hating on players? Devs? Server? Impossible.

Also, gg on that cc kill, very impressive to pull off on a klei server.

Well to be fair, there weren't many if at all any players on the server to begin with, tho few joined and left. Also from what i've seen, the best way to achive something in pubs is to find a person or few people, get a common ground with them, like playing the same character, wanting to explore something or kill a boss and build it twoards something greater.

I love to kill Ck with Wormwood and a pocket full of killer bees!

Nice adventure that you had!

Out of all the servers I’ve joined on Xbox I’ve only ever actually seen TWO ever reach the point of the game where they even spawn Moonstorms. This stuff is some really obscure… and really long Grindy quests to even reach this point of the game. It took me I think it was like 8-10 real world hours to just reach max friendship with Pearl to get her Pearls Pearl which to the best of my knowledge: Only has one purpose- And that’s to fight a Raid boss intended to be fought with a group of players (or cheesed to death with Bees until Klei patches that method out like they did with Gunpowder)

So.. Congratulations to You & the people you played with, sadly I have come to the realization that if I probably won’t ever make it this far because even after getting the pearls Pearl- I will still die fighting the bosses & then all that effort, all that work, all those literal HOURS if not DAYS of build up.. gone.

Honestly I could play 50+ Battle Royale Matches for Fortnite or Naraka Bladepoint and feel like I’ve gotten further in those then I have in DST.

The TL:DR- I don’t like the “Grind” of DST, and I’m slightly annoyed that fun new challenging game content is currently being locked away behind having to do that grind.

But again- Congratulations to you and your friends, now you can enjoy the new Rift Content when more of it gets released later this & next year!

Is rollback removed on console version or something?

The rollback feature on Consoles is actually Broken…

And I could try to explain that to you, but- It’s better if I just show you a video before trying to explain it.

I am playing on the Xbox Series S, the other player is playing on the Original Xbox One.

The player who loads in a FULL MINUTE Later is the actual Host of this world who started the Rollback, HOWEVER because I am on the Xbox Series X/S it has faster load times & Download Speeds.

So what ends up happening: is the Willow in the Witch Hat (Aka the Host) can not Roll the world Back because by the time they actually Load in, I’ve been doing whatever for a full Minute and a Half and the games already saved a new Rollback point & they can’t rollback any further unless they exit the game and do it from the world launching menu.

If you’re on PC you’re lucky enough to not need to even bother with this (I think..?) HOWEVER it is important that I mention Klei’s pipeline dream for DS/DST is Cross-Play Between Consoles.

So I bring this to your awareness NOW… before it’s a much bigger problem in the future when/if Cross Platform Play ever actually becomes a thing.

There goes the only genuinely positive and wholesome topic on these forums, I'm going to miss it... :(

it’s still a wholesome thread, I just wanted state my disliking for 8 hour conquests, that in a public world (which Xbox doesn’t have) will be wasted progress when that world no doubt resets again. It only becomes Unwholesome when you let it be that way. :love_heart: Again: Congrats to Op on your accomplishment with this task.

That is very unfortunate that the journey towards a CC fight can be summarized as a grind session. I'm also bothered that you need to take a lot of steps to reach and it could also look like Klei tried to artificially add list of pointless quests on the way. But personally i'm not bothered by all of that mcuh. If it wasn't for pearls quests you cold very easily just spedrun the moon storm, get the astral detecor, find and kill Crab King and then just activate the lunar event. While it sounds more appealing, i can understand why they wanted to prolong players from reaching the final boss immediately. I mena, its THE final boss of dst for now and having to make few extra steps to get it makes sense imo. They could've done it diffrently and maybe in a way that didn't feel like it drag out for no reason but i dont really have any ideas like that to presnt (not to say there aren't any ideas, that could work better). While the worst parts of this are Pearl and Crab King (srsly just make slightly diffrent fight, rather then leaving it basically as toadstool 0.2), the thing as a whole should feel like an adventure that you can end with an epic boss fight. Also it's important to mention the Fuelweaver, because opposite they and the ways of getting to them are. Trying to reach and fight Fuelweaver is challenging, requiring us to kill two raid bosses,  both of which are pretty tough but not unfair, except for shadow bishop (idk why they let him just teleport into player). And after that there's not that much grind to do, only to get the fossils to summon him but also locating the atrium, which can take forever (even tho i usually just go out of bounds to get there). The only find that gets me is the fight with Fuelweaver. I don't like it, or at least the specific gimmicks his attacks have. His healing is bs, the cage makes you vulnerable, his heal spam is annoying and if you run out of sanity foods you die. Having to deal with his different attacks in the matter of seconds is challenging but also frustrating. My problrm with it is that its not a fun fight. It's just your reaction test and how willing you were to grind for it. And yes, getting armor is a necessary grind but having to get weather pains and telepoof staffs doesn't feel like a necessity, more like a requirement (while you don't need weather pains, you'll have to be surgically precise if u want to succede and that's not a guarantee). Reaching fuelweaver can be straight toward, maybe even "easier" then CC, but fighting him doesn't feel rewarding. It's more like going out of your way to get your ass kicked. CC fight also needs basic supplies but that's it. You dont need a specific item to fight off an undodgeable attack or to prevent him from healing(except for lowering sanity ig), because all of his attacks are fair game. You can predict what he'll do and how to avoid it, instead of just shoving any moves up your face. I want to emphasize that the fight IS what you're trying to get to (plus other content, maybe). All i'm trying to say is: the journey to CC can leave you with a sense of accomplishment, even with frustrating challenges on your way. Hope all that text relates to my point.

Yeah, about that- it was a straight 12 hour session on public Klei server, so right after killing CC i immediately went to bed :?. Would love to stay for the rifts but man i was so tired. Server prolly reseted by now so eh, next time maybe. Hope you'll succeed in your playthrough :encouragement:
