Mechanic Rework/Idea: Freezing/Heating Thermal Stones.

Hear me out. The ice staff is usually used to freeze mobs, while the fire staff is used to set the world on fire. unfortunately, both don't really have as much use as they should. The ice staff is sometimes used for small niches, but not enough to really justify using it for all too much. The fire staff is even worse, since if you try to use it, you're more likely to panic burning enemies into destroying things you didn't intend to destroy. If you do intend to destroy things with these staffs, it doesn't really help either, since you're better off just using a torch for most of these situations. I have an idea that could give reason to actually carry either of these staffs around.

What if using a fire/ice staff on a thermal stone could affect it's heat, without affecting the surroundings. That would make it useful to carry a Firestaff around for winter, and an Icestaff around for summer. Carrying either could work as a way to prevent you from having to worry about building a campfire, in case you're out of materials to make a fire, or just don't want to do that at the moment.

It's not a big enough change to really be game breaking, but I feel it would be a good quality of life addition.

Edit: Also, it would be cool if you could shoot a cook-able food item to cook it.

Maybe 20% instead. If you could charge a firepit to full in a single cast, and the staff has 20 uses, that's basically filling the pit to full for an entire season, for the cost of a single red gem. Also, given it's a Shadow manipulator craft, you can basically craft one whenever, whereas the starcaller staff is at least hidden behind Living logs, yellow gems, and is an ancient crafting recipe (meaning you have to go to the ruins if you want to make one). So yeah, 100% is way too powerful. I think 20% is a better number

Although star caller offers utility and such with sainiy. It could be 50%
