New player here with a quick question.

Hi! I'm enjoying DST so much, I've had it for a while, but just started playing. I've watched videos for tips and have seen things like cute backpacks, etc. Is it easy to get these vanity skins and what's the best way? Thanks.

hi, glad u enjoying the game.
the easiest way is to purchase either from the bundle in game store or through steam marketplace.
there some free backpacks skin if u purchase DST merchandise if im not wrong its Chester backpack.
if u patient enough there some free way to obtrain skin .. u can collect some free spool. from unraveling skin you didnt want (usually from daily login and weekly drops) and weave backpacks skin you want with the spool u collected

Thanks so much. This helps a lot! I'm super impatient for cuteness, so I will be checking on these things a lot.  I mean, how adorable are those bunny and quoalaphant backpacks? I haven't seen a chester backpack. I did have to purchase a couple of wardrobe skins, but I didn't see any backpacks in any of them.

The most convenient way is to just buy whatever bundle Klei offers with that skin in it. The cheapest way is to look at the cheapest items on the community market with the different rarity filters, do some simple math to figure out which is the best value, then buy a bunch of those and unravel them into spools. Some bundles may also be a good value for unravelling so you could look at those as well, but that's way more work.

Thanks. I'm not sure what the unraveling is all about, but I will read up on it.

then u try type on search bar for back/backpack
try pressing the button at the top that look like chest and spool icon till all skin available to get shown.

u can see there is a shopping cart item to go to their in game store to purchase it.
or u can weave (using spool),

If you're on ps4/5 and planning on trying to keep a long or longish term world going I can clean sweep some skins for you (change skins from my collection in your world). I have most skins.

Just spotted this and it will be mine! Muahaha! I rescue kitties and I have 5 solid black babies right now. I love them all, but black cats are special.
