Nah shadow side is significantly stronger. Thoufh not better

 

just cus it gives a flat +25% bonus damage which imo feels out of place

yeaah but its so uninteresting though. Im imagining like wx being covered in shadowy tendrils and such that attack with you or something other than just a flat bonus damage yknow? Fully utilizing the shadow boon

I mean Wurt, Walter, Winona, Woodie and Willow shadow affinities are pretty strong, aren’t it?

Wurt shadow perk spawn shadow tentacle and double their health.

Walter’s can teleport, and deals constant dmg.

Winona’s is really good in early game, b4 gaining access to cc shard.

Woodie’s basically ignore sanity problem in most bosses fight

Willow’s works pretty well against single target

I don’t get where ur point comes from

 

my point comes from the fact the lunar side is more appealing %95 percent of the time. Because the lunar is either godlike for late game or for either comfort. 
Wurt mains keep telling me to pick lunar side because of the merm soldier bonuses 
Walter mains (mostly) prefer the lunar side cause of movement speed and instant sprint after dash. lunar ammo actually has more dps than shadows even in solo(I had to google this, more raw dps but less micro-stun)
Winona's shadow perk being WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more underwhelming than lunar even though charlie is her SISTER is... yup. ''but ozi the perk is good'' its not about the perk being good its about the perk being less than the lunar side. Papi wagstaff is providing a permanent refueling tiny nuke to power her machines.
Most woodies dont wanna bother with the moon and just pick lunar,  you dont fight bosses most of the time unless you boss rush or ruins (really good but rlly specific) Lunar is just general comfort.
Aaaaand willow's one is basically both sides of the same coin. You can either choose to direct the fire with your hands or choose to spread the fire with a click. Both deal 500 dmg total.
Sooooooooo yes okay to summarize. Shadow perks are way more specific/niche  or less powerful than lunar. But dont worry this will be changed. I think. Eh. Im just biased cause shadow/charlie was always one of my fav parts about the game.

what wurt mains are telling you that lunar is better than shadow? same with woodie. Willow's shadow affinity is generally agreed to be better even if lunar is more fun, and past that most other characters have either balanced affinities or prefer shadow. I always felt like shadow is the consistently better choice for a lot of characters since theyre relevant for a much longer portion of the game than lunar is, just being able to get pure horror and the shadowcraft plinth pre rift while pure brilliance is stuck behind the grindy celestial champion means shadow gets extremely major advantages that most characters are unable to justify lunar for until late game.

Personally I prefer lunar as it's simply more convenient in the end game even if Shadow does more damage merms already murder anything you come across so not much is gained.

Honestly this is news to me. Lunar is just simply better when it comes to dealing with hordes and things like brightshades so it was more popular last I checked and is often the favored affinity from my experience.

Lunar tends to be better against again single targets but shadow has superior aoe round wise. As for Woby wether lunar or shadow is better usually depends on the world as teleports can sometimes save more time than Lunar but on average Lunar Woby is better since you can use player structures to close gaps anyway if you stay in a world long enough.

While people often point to this considering merms already melt their opponents I just never see the value in this.

 

There are definitely some lesser affinities but I feel like people are too quick to write off some affinities.
