Picklesaurus
Balloomancy Silent runner 1 -> Increases Speedy Balloon duration by 25% and its speed by 5%. Silent runner 2 -> Increases speedy Balloon duration by 35%. Wes can attach a temporary Speedy Balloon to a walking cane, increasing its speed by 5%. Prankster -> Wearing balloon hat and inflated vest at the same time makes squeaking noises that creatures hate (they aggro wes). Wes's clumsy hands can't get out of inflated vest and hat when they are equipped at the same time. (a smart wes will explode a ballon on himself to get rid of ballon hat and vest, costing some hp) Party time -> Poping a party balloon makes non boss enemies panic for 3 seconds and buff nearby allies movement speed by 15% for the same duration. "Light ballon" or "Thin balloon" -> Balloons deal half the damage to wes. There is a 10% chance Balloons will instantly fly away/pop once crafted. Hot air Ballon -> Wes can pop a ballon that quickly raises the temperature of nearby allies but overheats wes - can't overheat allies. Balloonacy -> Wes takes half the time to craft balloons and they drain 1 less sanity. Higher chance of terrorbeak when insane. Mime powers Mime basics -> Unlocks Pantomime book. Wes learns how to make temporary pantomimed axe and pickaxe. Drains medium sanity. Mime basics II -> Wes learns how to make temporaty pantomimed hammer and shovel. Pantomimed tools last a bit longer. Mime basics III -> Wes learns how to make temporary pantomimed bugnet and Row. Pantomimed tools last considerably longer. Pantomime mastery -> Mime powers cost less sanity. Wes learns how to sit on an invisible chair. Invisible box -> Wes walls enemies in a medium area around him for some seconds. Wes also gets walled. Costs a LOT of sanity. If enemies or wes receive damage the wall holding them instantly breaks. (a smart wes will explode a ballon on himself to free himself earlier if needed) Sidekick Friendship letter -> Wes can craft a friendship letter and give it away. If accepted, Wes and his new friend receive a small amount of passive sanity regeneration. Can only befriend one person at a time. Wes can't befriend another Wes. (For flavour you could let Wes write a small message on the letter) (Un)lucky friends I -> Wes's friend has a 20% chance of dealing considerably more damage. Wes has a 10% chance of dealing considerably less damage. (Un)lucky friends II -> When Wes's friend receives damage, there is a 20% chance of negating it. Wes has a 15% chance of receiving double damage. Friendly mail -> Wes gains a mime mailbox slot, an item put there will be instantly sent to his friend last inventory slot or fall on the floor. Can only happen once every 4 minutes, otherwise the mailbox slot is closed. The Friends We Made Along the Way - If Wes's friend would take lethal damage, both him and Wes get their HP set to 10 and they become protected by a Thulecite Crown's forcefield. Cooldown of one in game day. Notes: Those are just some skills ideas that I thought of after seeing his animated shorts and remembering about an old valentine's day post featuring him. I would like for Wes skill tree to feature double edged skills, implement ballons and miming as a significant part of his gameplay loop, some progression to his speedy ballon - so it is usefull after acquiring walking cane - and ballon vest and hat - so they are used at all - and a single branch focused on multiplayer for a multiplayer focused experience that makes Wes someone you really enjoy having around while also having enough other skill branches for a solo Wes player to have his own selection of skills that don't involve multiplayer. Flip Face
Spoiler Hahaha someone summoned me? And I was going to wait a little longer, but since you insisted so much. I hope this issue doesn't cause so much Chaos because to this day I still have my doubts about he's rework. Warning this is text that has been translated. Read at your own risk. :silent runner: It makes perfect sense that he would gain this ability since other characters also received several very tiny upgrades that exclusively perfected a single ability. Wolfgang is a good example. How about forgetting about level 2 or level 3, and even mastery, and spending Wes's skill points on new things? The charm of the fast balloon is in "all that's good lasts little". Prankster: Cool, makes you a assiduous tease, an irritating jester, but that part about (forgetting) to take your hat off? One thing I want in his skill tree is that for every new trick he gains a new disadvantage. Really cool thing you made from the "Friendship letter". So maybe Wes should have some skill worth having, for players to be willing to live with some misfortunes. For example, a skill that would have the disadvantage of making Wes unequip items much slower. Thus justifying that he has to pop the balloons while still wearing them. party time: I think every popping balloon could have a chance to scare non-giant enemies. When this skill is activated. "Light ballon" or "Thin ballon" and Balloonacy: I felt indifferent towards this one, I already suggested something along the lines of, whenever Wes is insane trying to inflate a balloon he would pop it and take damage, because he can't concentrate straight (Is taken by despair). Hot Air Ballon and Invisible box: Loved it EDIT: You gave me an idea, maybe if Wes eats certain foods maybe he could inflate the balloons with a different burp, eating pepper would make every balloon inflated by him be a hot air balloon and could even be an indirect improvement to the quick balloon. Eating onions would cause scent-dependent creatures like dogs and Klaus to become bewildered when passing through these clouds of stench that these balloons would leave behind. Garlic breath would scare away bats and do other tricks that would be fun to do. The party balloon would lose its effects if you inflated it with onion or garlic breath. Mime basics I,II,II and Pantomime mastery: When klei turned the mime into skins be sad. But you gave me hope! These skins are actually for those mortal paltry to dream that they can be gods but never will be. Besides, Wes's bad luck should be a recurring factor in the execution of his skills, there's always a chance that "this" or "that" will happen, or go wrong. Prankster: Cool, makes you a assiduous tease, an irritating jester, but that part about (forgetting) to take your hat off? I expressed myself badly there, continous aggro pulling in an area seems like a strong ability to have, so to balance it Wes style he wouldn't be able to take out the ballon hat and ballon vest once he equipped both to activate his prankster perk, that means he can't just unequip them and equip real armor once enemies want to attack him, he has to either keep running away or pop them himself with a balloon explosion. This is an example, first part I explode a balloon on myself to get rid of the ballon vest and ballon hat to stop pulling aggro losing few hp, second part a monster hits me and I lose half my hp: 4 hours ago, Emilier said: Reveal hidden contents Hahaha someone summoned me? How about forgetting about level 2 or level 3, and even mastery, and spending Wes's skill points on new things? I avoided adding too many new things because it would require Klei time to code and make new art + animation + visual effects, most of the things added in the last skill trees seem to be things already in the game: Wormwood moon shroom sleep cloud has the same effect as Napsack craft from toadstool, Wolfgang new icebell look similar to old deerclops aoe freeze attack, firedumbell aoe fire explosion looks like it came from fire hound explosion, Woodie's treeguard burning effigy seems to be simply an adjusted treeguard proc from when you are chopping trees, etc. Pantomime book would have the same UI as Codex umbra but for mime spells and the Invisible walls would have a really similar code to Maxwell's shadow prison just adjusted and different art. It is also hard to create new things related to baloomacy and mime powers that are not to strong, not too weak, not too out of theme and not require too much new code and art. I wish we could have mechballoon from the 1° april animated short for example, but I don't know how a good implementation of it would look like. I also wish to have the scraped concepts from Balloon armor and Balloon sword to be taken a look at, but it is hard to balance something like this between not so usefull and too strong, if it is something I'd only use first autumn I'd rather it not be implement and instead having greater effects on things I'll be using through the game like pantomimed tools. Mike23Ua
I would prefer that we don’t make Wes intentionally worse, otherwise.. your better off not picking any of his skill perks and just never using insight. the ONLY way intentionally making him worse would EVER work is if insight points automatically spent themselves such as “Bad Luck” ”Worse Luck” “Mime Luck” and they unlock and auto equip themselves. OTHERWISE I would rather Wes get some actual fun stuff with his skill tree. in several vignettes we see him napping with a particular pillow, so canon: Wes has a favorite napping pillow. It’s also a colossally missed opportunity to have a character that can craft infinity amounts of balloons.. but yet he can’t tie a few to himself to float over gaps and rivers. Bird Up
I like the first two trees, but last tree is useless if you are solo. Ideally a skill tree shouldn't be purely mutual with another player, it should have some benefit when solo. and if you beat the celestial champion, one skill should let him ride in this Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/150137-wes-skill-tree/#findComment-1657050 Share on other sites

I think it would be pretty funny if he had a couple of amazing perks but to get to them on the tree you have to spend points on a bunch that make him even worse than he is.
