DST has a very comfortable gameplay loop

Recommended Posts

I will always criticize DST when there is a decision I dislike. Always. I don't hold it against anyone who does the same or criticize business practices or certain buyouts that may step on the toes of anyone's principals.

Seldom will anyone give kudos for what is done right, however.

DST has a pretty damn good game cycle no matter where you are. I'm having a lot of fun playing, especially with other people.
There are always different things you can do in game be it with others or on your own.

If you're starting out, even just toughing it through your first winter can be a good new experience. Defeating your first enemy.
Even those who are experienced can go through a thrill being in the underground or if they so wish, they can kill all bosses.

Carrying other players can illicit a fun experience too.

If you are a psychopath, you'll be able to enjoy sailing too. The fishing system is pretty fun all things considered... It's just too bad that the yield is a little weak for what it is, but it's still really fun to fish. Probably just not as rewarding as it perhaps should be.

Building when you hit the late game makes this a quasi-Animal crossing type deal and building farms from what I hear, from my limited experience and from never have played the game, I heard can be similar to factorio.

From my own personal experience, being primarily a Wigfrid main and playing a lot more Woodie these days, I don't have much value in farming, however, the farming in DST is a lot more robust than other titles which focus on running a farm.
I honestly believe that you could add an economy to the gameplay loop with proper currency and not skip a beat if you so chose.

There's a lot of fun to be had and I'm grateful a game like this exists.

This is one of the few times I'll be positive. Klei doesn't hear it enough I reckon, but thanks, Klei. They probably won't read this though haha.

Anyway, You'll see the passionate and angry version of me during the Wigfrid skill tree update where I guarantee that I won't be happy with anything.

Arrivederci.

P.s. Please add an economy and trading in game like we had in hamlet.

thanks.
