Character Special Abilities

Hi guys, I stumbled upon this gem of a game on Steam Greenlight the other day. Just the whole premise and style of the game appealed to me so much, I ended up buying it. I am definitely having fun and enjoying this game! ^_^

My question is, how do I use the special abilities of the other characters. For example, the fire girl. It says she sets things on fire in the dark. I was just sitting there in the dark beside some trees, and got slaughtered by the boogeyman that likes to attack with no light. Is there something I have to do to activate the fire ability?

You still have to have the materials required to make the fire. I believe the only difference between her and the others is that she can place a campfire on the ground while no other light sources are present, and the others can't.

I also believe fires do randomly start while she stands idle in the darkness. Not quite sure what starts it, but on 2 different circumstances trees and stuff near me in the dark burst into flames. So this required no action on my part, just stood idle in the dark.

just build a tent and change your character in game, at least when you have already unlocked her. maybe make sure to have enough mats for a second tent at hand, in case you don't like the new character and want to switch back.

If you stand in the darkness, she will start a small fire after 3-4 seconds. You'll hear the 'velociraptor' noise of approaching enemies, but the fire will kick in before they reach you and deal damage. This was added in a recent update; until now, she didn't have special abilities.
