Should MODs suspected of plagiarism and personal attacks be removed?

Last October, I reported a mod called ShroomCake in steam workshop, which cracked the in-game premium skin content and made it available to players for free.

After I reported this mod, the author wrote my steam ID in his code and added a personal attack to insult me that would automatically play whenever a subscriber logged into the game.

 

 

I checked the Steam Online Conduct https://store.steampowered.com/online_conduct?l=english&snr= ,and I am very sure this is a serious violation of community rules. Value took down it before, but ShroomCake add it soonly later again.

That's not all. In addition to adding insult to the code and hacking paid items, the mod has also stole a number of other mods without authorization,and add some rude curse to Klei in his code also.

 

So after these statements, does Klei have the authority to warn or punish them? Or something else could do?

If I were you:

- I'd report directly to Klei support if the mod is hacking/violating Klei's terms of service. They answer pretty quickly and will help you on how to keep handling this issue privately. Klei forums are against point and shame posts.
- I'd also report the mod author to steam for harassment, bullying or direct attack, with as many proof you can gather.

If I remembered correctly, the "Klei YYDSB" is actually directly from another mod? Where the original author got pissed off by some poorly written code?

If it is ture, so it means that ShroomCake is an exact copy of someone else's code even including the rude words, which makes me feel funny.

For some reason this has the same vibes as the hacked ROM emulator scene (crude and obscene hacks made to provoke, or what am I missing in this case? The video game world is a peculiar place).
