I think that you shouldn't be using the word "cheese" usually that means you can kill a boss without too much prep and risk something that can be done in a reasonable timeframe for example catapults or tentacles at BQ or killing Deerclops and Ancient Guardian so you can craft your first Houndius Shootius and place it at Fuelweaver or just use the void walking method. 

There's nothing wrong with finding stuff to do so that you can play for 6000 days on a world and your designs work for what they are made to do.

To me it seems like you don't understand that most of the players don't spend 6k days on a world because they don't find it interesting so I don't get why you bring up speedrunning or even just playing normally and compare the time they spent resetting the world 10-30 times and you playing on the same world as it is just a completely different playstyle and everyone plays DST how they want and there's nothing wrong with that.

Dirty? This is game mechanics The devs did fix the issue I reported but didn't fix the cheese, so it is acceptable.

 

If you want to use several Houndius for antlion, then do it. I would use it on other bosses though, for maximum potential of houndius.

By the way, suggest a good way to farm saltpeter in the endgame - and I will be grateful to you. Otherwise, mole slaves or the demolition of petrified forests with FW or Bearger do not replenish saltpeter at a sufficient pace. Changing characters doesn't interest me as I don't play in beginner mode.

This is a clever and interesting system for auto-killing antlion!  Thank you for sharing.

I did not see anyone else mention that you can get antlion's blueprint drops by fishing in the oasis until you receive the beach toys (a pail and shovel) and giving that to antlion (instead of killing antlion).  This also appeases antlion for several days.  Klei, if you're reading, please don't "fix" this - I don't love killing things and this is one way that the seasonal giants accommodate my playing style.

I prefer to dodge antlion's sinkholes/boulders 4 times per summer rather than fight it.  I learned just yesterday that if you run into an existing sinkhole (on the surface), antlion doesn't hurt you there!  Antlion's world-wide attacks are just one more reason to run away from base:

• Hounds that kill glommer, the Friendly Fruit Fly, and set your base on fire
• Normal cave-ins that kill the Friendly Fruit Fly
• Depth worms
• Deerclops
• Bearger
• etc.

I usually summer in the caves and mine antlion's boulders to make cobblestones which I then put in the Turf-Raiser Helm  (blueprint from Antlion) to pave paths to all the places I usually go down there.  I doubt I ever live long enough for the path-making to pay off.  I just think it's fun.
