Feedback on my Spacefarer Module layout.

Recommended Posts

The goal with this module layout is to try to maximize moral, largely via decor (+12).  I recognize that I'm probably over-doing it a bit on the decor, but that is fine and I'm not sure if there are any other critical things I'm missing.  The window tiles let my decor items in the middle reach almost all locations, in particular the bed, shower, control station, and data collection lab which is where the dupe spends most of their time.

The carpet is there for the decor plus tickled does helps a bit with stress just in case moral drops for some reason.  I could also throw a carpet under the table, which would help a bit more with stress but it would block a bit of decor from the party line and allow more carbon dioxide to build up before being pumped out (though in a location that the dupe doesn't stand in often).

I could move the party line up and an oxylite storage container down to where the party line is to delete CO2, but that always felt a bit like cheating to me so I have chosen not to go that route here.

Ooh, the vacuum food storage is a nice touch, and without costing any additional space!  I'm surprised the telescope works from that location.

Why do you have two walls up near the top?  Feels like you could have put some molding up there or something?  How are your aeropots able to fit in one space, I thought they required two?

How does the phone stand on a ladder tile? Is that something they can do or is it an exploit?

Hahaha, now I feel like an unsophisticated clutz! What I do is use a much simpler design, berry sludge and I just reduce dupe skills for space missions to the essentials. Never even thought I could fit a shower in there...

Showers use a lot of water, so you need a spare tank for them. What I like to do instead is fold out a beach chair. It's smaller, gives them +5 morale for 12 cycles, counts as a great hall requirement, and gives dupes something to do while idling in the rocket.

After placing the phone, I remade the tiles into a ladder. The phone doesn't work, but the motion sensor works. I'm not using mods.

That is a really good idea and, now that I have done it as well, works really well! No idea why I never though of that.

The motion sensor would work as long as that door is closed. The phone not working explains what it does there (entertainment building presence, does not have to work). Like the trick with the door over the mess-tables!

Even thou I am late to the party, there's no need to have ladder there. With solid tile everything would work the same and phone could be used.
