Francis2000 random artwork

Hey everyone, I suddenly thought that the Don't Starve artworks accumulated over the years should be published, so here I am.
I prefer to use a ballpoint pen to draw, but there are some others.Maybe you've seen my work, but not all of it (well, not all of it here too)

This is my just finished work:

The end of 2019 is where it all started:

In 2021, some things in school almost made me lose the motivation to draw, and I wanted to throw away the picture book several times. So there wasn't much new work that year:
(It's probably a mix of my favorite things: dragons and Don't Starve, so it's Maxwell but dragons)

In 2022, slowly recover from the pain:

Not sure if this counts as art, I made a 3D model of Wilson using an amazing website called Hero Forge!
It's actually a site that lets you make 3D print your miniature character models (there's a fee to print and download the files, but not the crafting itself), mostly for TRPGs like Dungeons & Dragons.

Below is a copy of the file. Don't worry, you're free to edit, it won't touch my original save, but be careful you might find scary secrets inside.

The birth process of this picture is a bit complicated. In short, it was drawn by me and AI.
The whole process is like this:

Spoiler

I expected a very detailed (or "real"?) portrait of Maxwell, so I took my own work to the leonardo ai for reference (the one with the ruins background)

Spoiler

RuinMaxwell.thumb.png.14740fc8a4d6ca227cd04e21f8db994d.png

it gave me something funny but too real:

After generating a lot of images I was lucky enough to get one that I kind of liked, but some parts were still too far off (he has a beard!).

Even with a reference, it is difficult for AI to draw exactly what I want, so I decided to open Photoshop and start a lot of recompositing and redrawing with generated pictures

Originally wanted to keep the old background, but the AI wanted something completely different

Nice work! It's really interesting to see AI art being used to supplement work rather than entirely replace it. A lot of people want to write it off entirely and burn AI to the ground, but I feel like given enough time to move past the mania surrounding it, AI art can be used in very cool ways like this :D

Thanks, glad someone understands this.
Although AI is a very good painter, it is extremely lack of understanding of human thoughts and too many things, and it has no real innovation ability. This is a place where human artists cannot be replaced, not to mention that AI still can't even do the correct composition in many cases, so it is too early to say that AI will replace artists.
But it is definitely a very useful assistance tool, I have never painted portraits so well in my life. If a painter who is really good at portraits collaborates with AI, think how beautiful their work will be, and it will definitely be easier to draw new works!

I love how dragon-like the terrorbeak looks!!

I like dragons, but it seems that due to some shape memory error, every time I draw terrorbeak without a reference, I always draw it like a dragon, well even if there is a reference
Quite a few terrorbeaks that I erased over and over because I thought it was a "mistake".
image.thumb.jpeg.82f610dabc2cf410ce921bea8dbe58eb.jpegterrobeak.thumb.png.349583bbcb141241466012b09d2f1c68.png
In the end it this official art that made me decide to follow the voice in my head and make the dragon Terrorbeak actually take shape.
really love the momentum and dramatic tension of this picture, mine is too weak in comparison lol!:wilson_goodjob: I hope one day I can reach this level

Not exactly related stuff, I put it here because it's cute

Here are some jumbled pieces, from 2D to animation to 3D!
The first is the recent Halloween drawing, also posted in Halloween Art Thread. Super moon mutant zombie Deerclop!

Then there are two action concepts I drew after Rotwood playtest, and they were also published in Rotwood Suggestions and Feedback. Movement is art!
1. Charged Penetrating Shot

 2. RollReload
Lastly (if I missed nothing) are the 3D minis of Wilson (face re-make), Willow, Maxwell and Wolfgang (survivor skin) made with HeroForge. HeroForge has been introduced in the above post, so I won’t go into details here.
Wilson.
Has already revealed it in a previous post, but since then HF has gone through an epic update and now can customize the character's face, so I made little modification to the old model.

More pictures and links

Willow.
There are no such rare antiques as lighters from 100 years ago in the component library, but there are old blowtorch.

Wolfgang.

"Wolfgang MIGHTY!"
"No! Wolfgang! Those are bee mines!"

Maxwell
His mini is much older than Wilson's, since he is a character I play in D&D, I made him early with the intention of using it in the game, but I didn't actually implement the 3D scene until recently. Of course, He has also gone through many updates. It's a bit of a shame because I wanted him to look taller and slimmer, more in line with his body type, maybe next year's big update can do that.
Note: The unknown item on the left is actually a cane sword. It was obtained in a game a long time ago. It can be turned from its current appearance inside out into a short sword.
