Uniquely special traits to shine bug morphs.

Don't know why they are all the same, but some practical application would be neat. They just look more like a decorative time sink at the moment, which... just why? Hate time sinks.

Would be great if each morph did something useful and special. For the abyss bug, had the idea of it blocking light (maybe radiation too) and lessening the lux drawn down from space and to potentially also prevent sunburn.

The only different ones are the last 2 morphs; the black one and the white one. Iirc they have a longer lifecycle and provide a lot more decor value. Oh and the sun bug (the first morph) eggs are an ingredient for the zombie spore cure i personally never had to use.

They take a lot of effort to get to the final morphs and those have a pretty crazy diet (BBQ and diamonds iirc). You can actually control which morph you want by giving them the right food. If they had unique traits it would make sanse to do that. Like some of them giving more light or much more light - enough to power solar panels without overcrowding. More radiation for radbolt harvesting. Passive stress reduction to keep them in destressing rooms. Maybe even giving dupes a bonus to their skills when close.

We could also use a way to keep them in place at least for a while. Like a shinebug cage where a tame one can be kept like a canary bird and has to be fed manually by a dupe.

I too think there should be more to distinguish the various shine bug morphs, but I'd settle they removed radiation from the basic morph.  The radiation animation dupes do when pathing past shine bugs has transformed them from a cute critter to keep in my base to a nuisance to be disposed of.
