pether
Spices were always motivation to explore the world, colonize it and establish trade. The history of rise of East India Company, fall of House Atredis, the history of humanity, one could say, always revolved around spice. Why not use it in ONI? Now with Spice introduced in public_testing we could have common spice and rare ones, that can be find only on specific asteroids. Those rare spices should provide big enough bonus to encourage (or maybe even enforce) player to explore the space and colonize it. That would fix current state where asteroids are visited, stripped of artifacts and forgotten, and the space exploration is not really required to complete the game. So here are some loose ideas to be used or to inspire even better ideas: 1. You can tame Gassy Moos to get their milk and make souces 2. Space dust that falls with commets on only one asteroid. It must be refined quickly (maybe with POI existing only on that asteroid) to get the spice or it will spoil. 3. Plant that for unknown reason grows only around specific POI. Or maybe it could grow anywhere, but only around POI drop spice 4. Critter morph that critters morph into only in asteroid-specific conditions (eg. when eating resin from POI tree) 5. Natural POIs - instead of having gravitas technology, use POI system to make some natural formations: stalagmites, crystal caves, waterfalls (or in general, liquidfalls), etc, all being sources of some spice ingridient. Or to simplify: spice volcano. To encourage space exploration, those POIs etc should be scattered randomly around asteroids, so player had to land on planet and see what's on it. Also, there should be a reason to stay on the asteroid and make it livable to obtain the spice, nothing like "land, strip mine, fly away" Also, despite it being mainly a reason to explore DLC space, there is no reason not to include it to vanilla game: POIs can be added there as well Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/143178-space-spices/ Share on other sites
Sasza22
I`d love if gassy moos would finally be milkable. A late game spice made out of moo milk could give some serious bonuses. NNOUS
Perhaps in the future when game is evolved enough, maybe there would be other species travellers that player can trade specifically goods with. Who knows. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/143178-space-spices/#findComment-1598795 Share on other sites

But I was talking about spices like pepper and oregano, there is new building in the beta that allows to add spice to your food and I'd love to see some rare ingridients scattered on other asteroids Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/143178-space-spices/#findComment-1598887 Share on other sites
