Durian

Today I'm wanting to question why Durian is the only fruit that only likes spring? All other fruits (Pomegranate, Watermelon and Dragon Fruit) like both spring and summer. If the purpose is to make a plant that likes a season, why not make a plant more useless like the eggplant, which is basically an inferior potato in every way?

I think it is like that so it does not compete with other crops when growing from generic seeds (basically making it less likely it spawns since durian does not have a lot of uses)

Tbh I do kinda wish durains were good for something farms are more or less worthless for Wurt and even then there's several better crops for her.

This.

For Wurt's hunger and eating straight off the plant its a lot better to farm pumpkin.
For a lot of hunger and high healing in a pretty easy to make dish, it's better to focus on dragonfruit (spring-summer)
For generic all-year crops, you can never go wrong with potato-tomato combo: decent hunger, healing when roasted, fancy spiralled tubers for easy and cheap sanity.

Since Wurt is the only character that appreciates durian, and one could argue that it's a sort of penalty crop for most other characters (except maybe Webber but still, using durian to make monster lasagna is kind of a waste) I think a nice QOL buff could be that durian adds 5 sanity to Wurt when consumed raw or roasted.
