You can set up some form of food supply next to you like pigs or a farm, place a fire pit and an ice box, make a thermal stone, and then you're done. You can now stay where you are indefinitely without dying or gathering resources because of the resources you gathered in a few days. The only problem is hounds which you can just fight, make traps with their teeth, or have the pigs fight for you. If you stand on a boat hounds won't even spawn so you could just do that too.
