I like the look of the new wickerbottom

Recommended Posts

thats all I have to say. I think wicker's books and the fact that she can replenish them within the bookshelf will lead to very enjoyable gameplay. People are stating that if you take away wickerbottom's books then she doesn't really have anything left to her, and I think maybe this is true, but there isn't a situation in which wickerbottom cannot craft them. In other words, wickerbottom can be played in a very boring way if you do not interact with that which she comes with, but she comes with a lot, and I think those things are enjoyable. Now if only klei could release a skin that I actually enjoy for her... :butterfly:

a list of wicker's book's perks for those uninformed.

Most of what I could ask for are small things like, I wish that webber received a speed boost from overcoming arachnophobia, or that characters in general could read books and only receive sanity bonuses/degradation similarly to wurt.

Really, the only issue I have with this update is that a practical item that causes rain to fall has been introduced, but it is specific to 1 (2 if you count maxwell) characters. I think this is a point in which solo play really suffers a fair bit,  as rain is something that, admittedly has a fair bit of places where it would be fairly sought after. I wish that some other item to induce rain would be introduced. Thats all.

while i dont agree about the state of the rework i do agree that making the item that changes weather character specific is very dissapointing

i think this is worded in a bit of a sad way. I don't think there has to be "a" specific item that changes weather, I think wickerbottom is perfectly well to have her own way to do so. I just wish there was another option for those who are playing by themselves or otherwise don't have a wickerbottom around.

well that is what i am saying, in the future adding a way to trigger rain by any character would be great even if it needs some late game grindy materials while wicker can do it in the firsts days

i don't see why ...

Idk about other recipes because I didn't test beta myself yet, but come on, 2 moon rocks for a night of full moon. Yea, sure, why would we need to explore an overworld, caves and sea to get three idols to activate a perma-full moon, which can be disabled only by killing the strongest boss in the game if we can just combine a moon meteorite remnants and 8 reeds.

one takes constant maintenance and the other is permanent until you kill a boss

Full moon is full moon, it still makes Woodie a wereanimal, makes piggies twice as nutrient, gives you free light and allows to spawn Krampii using Glommer, but on one scale is loooooong way of progressions and time, while on other is just 2 basic resources which can be collected in the 1st half of 1st autumn

I think this is a super silly argument and i will not entertain it further.

The moon cycle controls certain events in a world so her full moon book can be used to grief people trying to use those events and makes Woodie's life a living hell personally I feel like it's too much power for one player I feel like the event that triggers perma full moons is locked behind such a huge wall of content for a reason(not that I like that it is...)
