WendyRunner
Hi there, I just was testing the update and I can't understand the logic behind the UI. For example look at images below, when i stand beside a think tank the icon of crafting ui changes to boat steering wheel. When i click on it, it still shows my previously selected category. So why the icon changed ? I thought clicking on it should bring boat section (which also in new ui has a different icon). Guille6785
it seems to always open the menu on the last tab you crafted something from, most likely a bug since that didn't happen yesterday Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/138556-can-someone-explain-how-this-new-crafting-ui-logic-works/#findComment-1551845 Share on other sites
DaZoul
Maybe it's supposed to signal to newer players that they can prototype new things while standing next to the building. lionking102
It always opens the last filter, even if you are near a research station. The icon tells you that you are close enough to use it. The reason for this is simple: Let's say you are near an alchemy engine - There are items crafted by the alchemy engine in nearly every filter, so which one should it open? But it's different if you are near an crafting station (pseudoscience station, potter wheel etc.) where all items are togehter in one filter. Than it opens that filter automatically. Hope this helps. I think the answer to your question is simple, a filter over all things that are craftable by alchemy. If i didn't want to scroll then I choose category. If i didn't want to scroll then I choose category. After they released the beta I also first thought that's how it could work. But they never added this and now I think that's good. I think the problem why they don't want this is, that there would be a lot of additional, sometimes really messy filters. For example: you asked why it doen't open the boat filter. If it would work like you said it would open a boat filter but a different one with less stuff in it, because not every boat item need the tank. Also the question if the alchemy would just show alchemy recipes or also the ones from the science machine etc. It would be nice to prototyp stuff but I think it would cause to much confusion and inconsistency and we already have a lot of filters. GodIess
a new tab opens only if it is a crafting station only near which you can make a new item in other cases it is just a signal near which station you are and what level crafting is available to you Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/138556-can-someone-explain-how-this-new-crafting-ui-logic-works/#findComment-1551864 Share on other sites
