515905_1452787397
I just came back to DST after spending a couple months away from the game and am now experiencing some nasty lag even when playing alone. Character will backtrack far away and doing anything (even picking stuff up) can take a long time. Is there any reason it's so laggy now when it wasn't when I used to play before? I've never had lag issues with DST while playing as the host before. I've tested my internet and it is fine. Any help is appreciated, thanks! Captain_Rage
There was an update released a while ago which provided the game with 64-bit executable on top of the 32-bit one. Have you tried both to see if makes any difference? It is prudent to get rid of any mods in order to test performance. Karitha
There is plenty of thing you can do with your game to make it less annoying but I can not promise anything. Disable any background app, like browsers, googledrive, antiviruses, cortana or any bloatwares that suck your computer's soul. If you have a low tec computer you can try to close explorer too, but I suggest you to use linux. You might thinking to use AME or LTS version of Windows. (Kinda geek thing but just saying.) Use Rain and Snow Lag Fix mod. Use Don't Starve Alone mod. Disable shining and shaking effects. Enable notebook mode. Decrase resolution. Disable in-game caves and use smaller worlds. (A small world will do fine if you are playing alone, i use medium) Not sure if it work but use bordorless fullscreen method. Saved me a lot of times in games, might work with DST to, maybe?
