If you are playing on Xbox Series X/S this happens anytime you try to play the game from the “Quick Resume” think of it like using an iPhone- you can exit your game, and power off your console but until you manually close the game/app it still runs in the background.

I had a question, is there a noticeable upgrade from Xbox1x to a Xbox series S? I'm considering buying one.

Extremely fast Loading times, extremely fast starting/world launch times, a lot less lag. (By extremely fast I’m talking less then about 42 seconds from main menu, to world creation to character select, to actually being in the world.)

Other then that: No it doesn’t have any nice new features. :( That however does not mean it won’t get some in the future.

HOWEVER- IF you Upgrade consoles for Xbox One to the Series S there are a few things you NEED to know: First of all some games actually do come with Free Series X/S upgrades- Such as if you buy Watchdogs Legions on Xbox One you’ll automatically have the X/S Version upgrade free sounds awesome right? Well there’s a few catches to that..

Most Series X/S games have to be installed Directly onto the consoles Internal Harddrive, and will NOT play if stored on a External Harddrive, Four of those games is Watchdogs Legions, Fortnite, Rocket League & Rogue Company.

Some games DO let you play from the External Harddrive such as Ark Survival Evolved GTA V, State of Decay 2, It’s so unpredictable that it literally Depends on the game.

Secondly: Some games that ARE Upgraded to X/S versions are no longer compatible at all with playing with your friends who do not own an Series X/S- That means that sweet free upgrade you get for Watchdogs Legions? Yeah it also locks you out of playing the game with your Last Gen friends who can’t afford to buy the new Console & what’s worse is you can’t opt out of the Upgrade: You either accept it or your not playing the game.

These free upgrades do come with prettier graphics, faster frame rates, longer draw distances etc (you’d own someone in PVP in a game like Ark because you’ll see further distances without texture load pop in etc… ) which is exactly why some certain games won’t let you play with last Gen.

Some games like Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1+2 install BOTH the last Gen & Next Gen version of the game to your console: So you can play with your last Gen friends in the old version while enjoying the newer one when your friends aren’t on.

It depends on the game, there are no labels, no hints, no indications your going into next gen gaming completely blind on what you will & will not be able to play with your friends who can’t afford to upgrade yet.

If you can afford to buy and keep BOTH consoles plugged up that’s your best option.
