Silverspeedy
Is there a way to move water from one planet to another planet. I was trying with a frozen core place, I found 1 natural gas vent with 4 volcanoes (1 minor 3 metal). I can see the space zone but not sure if anything below towards the core. Towards the core in the winter biome is -187F. Looking at the map, there is not much in way of water (clean water) even polluted water not a lot around. I can do clean water but not sure how hard with the map to clean food poisoning out of the water. I see 2 teleporters for items but have not mined to them. Another teleport machine to another planet. I feel there will not be enough for research or farm tiles on the current place I am at. Map type is polluted air, water, dirt, and mud with a frozen core. Jann5s
Use the teleporters, it’s by far the “cheapest” way. Other options are; rockets or interplanetary launchers but from your story I’m guessing that you are in the early game, so you don’t have those yet. Sasza22
Item teleporters are super easy to use. You just need to activate one on each planetoid (requires a dupe with terrain research - the same one you need to analyze geysers). Each planetoid should have a sender and reciever. All you need is to pump water to a sender on one planetoid and out of the reciever on the other one. Good luck. Silverspeedy
Have not gotten rockets going....teleport to next planet...from main one. That is a lot worse off. Should I restart or keep going? Main has frozen core while second planet is pure cold. The teleport is in 60's F and as far I can see around it is 0F to -187. I see small water bodies that are 45F but surround it is sub negative temps. Have 5 dupes and almost cycle 30. It`s a lot easier to heat up stuff than cool it down. Once you get to petrol generators and oil refineries you will start to produce a lot of heat. It`s good to have cold biomes around to keep the machines cool. Machines won`t take damage from cold unless stuff freezes inside but they will take overheat damage if they get to hot. Similar dupes don`t actually take damage from cold. They will get hypothermia which slows their work and negative morale due to the cold but they won`t die or take damage from cold like they can from heat. Silverspeedy
In classic game had issues with pipes getting too cold and breaking pumping water through them in cold areas. In the past I always had too much heat issues in my colony. It is funny pointing that out about temps. Here you take heat damage but not cold for dupes...Hard to cool down. In Rimworld it is the opposite You take cold damage but not heat damage for pawns. Hard to keep warm even on the coldest maps with 2 block thick walls. That may need some sorts of design but that would help. Put still water in pipes for a long time is not working in real life, too. The same idea applies to hot areas. That's why we use water cooling our computers and cars. Gurgel
You can put infinite liquid store in the crew complement. That allows you to move however much you like in one go.
