Solar Panels not reaching max

Recommended Posts

I'm playing ONI w/ spaced out, and never had this problem in vanilla.  My solar panels are only putting out about 75% or less of max wattage even at peak sun light.  Oddly enough, one of my planetoids its even less, at 65%.  they are built 5-6 spaces above the line where "space" begins and have nothing above them.  Did they change the way the panels work or make a new variable with them?

and ideas or thoughts would help.

Thanks,

J

This is by design in Spaced Out, different planetoids now have different levels of sunlight. They did it because people were complaining that solar panels were too over-powered.

Other people, not me. :P

I've still never figured out how to generate a whole bunch of power on the tundra asteroid aside from space-lifting 20 tonnes of coal at a time.

There’s a bit of an exploit, you can build a solar tower on a rocket platform to get more W per width of map

This was nerfed as well in a recent patch. Now they block some light when grounded. I didn`t do the math on overall efficiency though.
