I normally work exclusively in pen. I find the rough edges contrasting with the vivid strokes more appealing. 
But on that last one, I elected to use pencil simply because I knew I would never make anything satisfactory with pen. 
So many sheets of paper would have been wasted trying to get the pose right...

This was a submission for the Hallowed Ink, for the day of "Rose". 
Yes it's literally just a big rose, but I felt like doing it. 
I like how the shading on the leaves turned out, though I wish I had a better red to color with.
