Ntr1cate Posted September 2, 2021 Share Posted September 2, 2021 TL;DR: The water requires to sit inside chlorine in order for the germs to be killed off, this can be achieved by putting water inside a liquid reservoir (liquid tank) and the environment surrounding the tank be chlorine (this is relevant to all liquids/gases/debrie). The game works by the environment with a capacity to kill/grow said germ (some germs don't die/grow in specific environments or die/grow extremely slowly) when calculating germ increase/deletion. When you want germs to be killed on something that is ordinarily considered a environment/full_tiled_element (in this case water), it becomes a case of turning that full tile into a object sitting inside a environment (in this case water needs to sit in a liquid tank which also sits in chlorine) . Tiles surrounding another tile is not considered 1 environment but rather separate environments surrounded by other separate environments each with their own individual rate of germ growth/death. Sasza22 Posted September 2, 2021 Share Posted September 2, 2021 You can`t fill water with chlorine as different elements can`t mix in this game so cleaning water by pumping chlorine won`t work. But you can use the technique described above. It`s a weird non-intuitive interaction but for the lack of other options we use that most of the time. Another way of cleaning water is to heat it up with the teptizer or by other means but that leaves you with a lot of hot water that`s usually a bad thing. How about venting Clor into a shower as a dup takes a shower with the water? Could that work? Don't worry about germs in water for things like sinks or showers as the game still cleans your duplicants even if there is germs in the input water (you can even give them scorching 99'c [210'f] water for washing themselves and they will be fine). Germs are more relevant for ingestions, Specifically breathing (but not eating/drinking) in slimelung which is only relevant with algae with slimelung or water sent to electrolyzers with slimelung. I wouldn't be surprised if you made it first as even Kharnath says alot of his designs aren't his own, the point of the recommendation wasn't a claim of innovation but a direction of design.
