Customizable bins are critical for space travels and a new task for dupes!

Recommended Posts

1. There is a list of materials needed in rockets in most of the space travels, such as steel, glass, plastic, and refined materials.
In the current stage, if you have a bin in the rocket, you need to micromanage it and first ask dupes to bring some steels, then some plastics, and then the next item.

Modify the bins so we can determine the upper bound for each material.

2. Define a new task for dupes in the space travels. After the orbital research they have not much to do there. It is annoying to hear the idle alarm every few seconds.

As a workaround: there is a conveyor 'counter', that only lets trough a specific amount of cargo, so you can add a cargo module, conveyor loader, counter and set it up so that cargo module will fill in with specific amounts of resources. Potentially you can drop that into starfarer module using fittings (no idea if cargo module is required or not in this case). The biggest downside is speed - conveyors are slow but placing multiple loaders helps a bit. Each type of cargo will need a dedicated counter. This also won't help with orbital payload module. Won't work well if you want 10 medicines of every type and spare suits since loader can't be limited to 10kg.

P.S. same can be used to transport additional rocket fuel: you can pack exactly 150kg of co2 or steam for a return trip into your 'oxygen' gas cargo module (works well with steam, temperature won't mix).
