Cursed_Handus
Has the question of what is best for performance been answered? Strip mine biome and leave or Vacuum it out or fill it in with tiles?
Gurgel
You mean with regards to FPS? The main advice is still to get all the rubble into compactors, I think.
ghkbrew
For fps, my understanding is: tiles > vacuum > single gas > mixed gasses. Vacuum and single gas are close, if not identical. But it's been a long time since I've seen it tested and that was before the DLC so things may have changed. 2 hours ago, Gurgel said: The main advice is still to get all the rubble into compactors, I think. I think an infinite storage pit works better. You get fewer entities which have to have their temperature updated each tick than if they're in compactors. The other standard piece of advice is to restrict pathing. Keep critters as confined as possible, especially flying and swimming ones. One wide pits are good for wild land critters. Dupe pathfinding can be computation intensive too. Disable access to places they dont need to go and remove extra bridge "scaffolding"
Oxygenbreather
IMO the amount of "stations" is crucial. Reduce some buildings. This affects RAM more than FPS, but RAM use affects FPS too (since caching hits and the such)
Yunru
Sandbox in nuetronium everywhere you're not using for best FPS.
