Please add a way to weigh crops without Produce Scale

Recommended Posts

It's incredibly annoying carrying all of my gigantic crops over to the scale to check its weight every single time, I think giving the pocket scale the ability to determine weights of giant plants as well as fish would be an obvious addition that would make working for the largest crops much less tedious

I'd like to suggest something different on that topic : a way to guess the weight but visually. Cause using a Pocket Scale on a massive crop seems a bit difficult to me. :distracted:
So yeah, what if... the heavier the crop is, the bigger it looks ? That would be possible and scaling the bonus size from the weight would looks cute imo.

The only two issues I see is, I don't think it's possible at the current state to show modified Transform sizes on the displayers (I've tried doing something like that for a mod and it wasn't working, so I'm assuming I'm not just stupid), and, obviously this would not be visible as well on the planted oversized crops, plus I've not checked but I'm guessing the weight is only generated once you harvest the crop... but I think it's just a detail or maybe the first part of the problem could be solved (and that would actually help me a lot haha). Having the biggest crop possible with Wax applied could be a quite impressing object.
And sure I'm not saying like having HUUUUUGE difference betweens the crops, but something like that doesn't seems off for me, I'm also surprised how HQ are the crops, they look even prettier when they're bigger :

I personally had the idea of making the Premier Gardeneer Hat do that - examining a crop would show its weight under the character's line for the crop.

And if anyone's interested, here's a mod I made with this and a couple other changes to the hat.

beefalo

The new farming is what finally got me to tame a beefalo, and I agree it definitely makes carrying the crops around so much easier! I just took a beefalo away from the herd, rode her around my farm every once in a while and fed her some of the pumpkins I was growing, and now I can move my crops from the fields over to my storage area like 10x faster than before. Same idea should apply if you replace the storage area part with a produce scale.
