Can someone post a image of how to hook up warp pipes?

Do I need to use plumbing or vent pipes

In short, yes.

There's an input and output warp pipe on planet 1 and 3.  Both ends (one on each planet) need to be active, or else it will say something like, "Activate pipe, 1/2" in red text.

Once active, you can pipe liquid, gas, and/or solids into an input pipe, to make it appear on the output pipe on the other planet.

So for example, I activate an input warp pipe on planet 1, and feed it with oxygen.  Then teleport a dupe to planet 3, and activate the output warp pipe, and attach a gas pipe, and a vent to get oxygen from my first planet onto planet 3.

I ended up sending water from planet 1 to 3, turned the water into oil, and sent the oil back to the starting planet.

What if I want to transport plugslug eggs?

In short:

Use the item rails.

Long answer:
1) Make sure you realize the output from plug-slugs was adjusted in the latest patch:

2) Activate an input and output warp pipe

3) Set the conveyor loader on the side with the egg to "Allow Manual Use"=True

4) Optional: Set loader to "Sweep Only" so you need to sweep the eggs in and you don't accidentally send all your eggs.

5) Set the priority on the loader to higher than your storage

6) Set "Critter Egg->Plug Slug Egg"=true

7) Power the loader

8) Sweep your egg, and watch the dupe put egg into loader.  Egg should follow the track, and warp out the other end.
