Epic Games question

Mo idea. I stay away from the Epic store after it made a game unplayable for me and the support was completely worthless. Epic support was fast to answer, but thy were really clueless. I eventually had to work around their launcher and start the game directly. Now I do not even have the launcher anymore.

Thanks a lot for the respond, but I would put the blame on Klei than Epic. It's their game so i would hope they would support their game when something goes wrong. It's not like they're not receiving money from Epic & Steam, but hearing how they don't help when it's on a different platform makes me not want to give them my money.

As for the launcher I heard a few ppl saying the same thing, that needs to be fix asap. So far I never had a issue with it and have over 30 games and they start just fine.

The problem was with the Epic _launcher_ not the game. The game worked fine after I found out I can start it directly. No more updates though.

If I buy it there will the game get the same updates as the steam version, and how can I download mods

If you can get the mod files, you can manually install them in "Documents\Klei\OxygenNotIncluded\mods\local" on Windows.  To install a mod, you simply add the mod (a DLL file) to this folder, then enable it within the game.

You need the mod dll file to install it.  You should try to use only trusted sources, as there can be malicious code within a mod (as with any application or mod you download online).  You can probably ask for the mod files from the ONI discord or modding forum.  Unfortunately, these mods will not automatically update.

I wish Steam would let us download mods without actually owning the game, but they won't let us do this.  As far as I know, the only way for you to get mods from Steam is to get it from a person who owns ONI on Steam.  Basically, if I were to help you with this, I would subscribe to the mod, then send you the DLL from Documents\Klei\OxygenNotIncluded\mods\Steam\#######.  Then you would install the mod in mods\local.

There are sites that will do this for you, but I have never used and do not trust any of them.

EDIT:  Many workshop pages contain links to github or other places where you can manually install the mods, but these links are not curated by Steam or Klei, so use them at your own risk.

EDIT 2:  I also want to say that I have not used the Epic game store (simply because I don't buy many games), so I am not claiming that you can't ONI install mods from the Epic game store.
