The uniting point is that there is 1000kg of water in one tile. Sure some of the things in game are unrealistic (Dupes carrying literal tons, energy and mass creation and deletion, unreasonable mass of asteroids) but dupes are one and a half tiles tall.

There is also 1000kg salt water and brine in one tile. Even ethanol has 1000kg as max mass, not to mention liquid methane, liquid hydrogen, and liquid chlorine. That's what you meant by uniting point? :D

So tile thickness is variable? Nice!

Well, you know I just used a ruler and they seem to be pretty much exactly 10mm tall (0.3937" for you metrically challenged folks).

I need more data! What level of zoom are you at?  What is the dot-pitch of your display?  My dupes aren't 10mm, they're closer to 0.5" (12.7mm for the Imperial-challenged)!  Are my dupes still growing?

Bahni, get back here with that slickster!  ....  I gotta run.  Back later!

Clearly, I got the advanced miniaturized ones, while they gave you the legacy ones with more space requirements. You are lucky they gave you larger tiles too!
