ZeppMan217
I've been wondering about this for a while: what does it mean when a fight is considered "self-defense"? You're still penalized for killing enemies, doesn't seem any different from regular fights.
pacovf
If you start a fight in which you are the aggressor, you get a negative status card added to your negotiation deck. This is a pretty common occurrence in Rook’s campaign, somewhat less so in Sal’s, IIRC.
ZeppMan217
Oh, is that why they're added? I thought that was a murder punishment.
pacovf
Both! Murdering someone has a 50% chance to give you a random negotiation status card, and 50% to have an NPC in the same faction hate you. Starting a battle in which you are the aggressor always gives you a specific negative negotiation status card. It’s been changed not so long ago, I don’t remember its name anymore, but it isn’t a particularly penalising card. Just make sure not to let them stack.
