There should be an option for the owner of any Woby to lock and unlock their Woby. It doesn't sit right with me that anyone can just waltz up to her and mess around with my items however they wish. 
This is probably the final thing that would completely solidify Woby as an extension to my inventory, at least to me.

Yes please 100% this. 
 

I’ve been consistently running into the issue but I will be in a server and I’ll be collecting resources for a project and putting them in Woby and other people will just open and go through her and take things without a care in the world. 
 

But Maybe I’m just not used to this type of play style and that’s just a totally normal and acceptable thing to do but I feel like it is continually frustrating when I ask people like hey please put that back and they’re like nope.

I think the reason you CANT lock Woby is what’s preventing you from being a total prick and taking important stuff out of someone’s server and then stashing them in Woby?

I think Klei made the right call in allowing ANYONE to Access her..

Now If Only Anyone could also ride Shotgun on her with Walter.. would be nice.

If you follow the story, Woby is only friends with Walter, he was supposed to run from other players, or be angry if someone tries to open his backpack.   Woby should only trust Walter.

If Walter dies, Woby's items will also drop to the floor.
 

Woby is invulnerable and currently can not die to anything. But- I just see Woby as a Grievers next favorite thing to Willows Lighter, They’ll spawn as Walter store important stuff in their Woby you can’t access then leave the game.

You can roll the server back I suppose but that’s about all you can do. I just wouldn’t personally if I were you store anything important inside Woby, He’s only a Chester/Hutch and Anyone can Access Chester/Hutch.

If Woby could be killed (like at all by anything..) then maybe dropping all her items would work.

Keeping things in Woby is no worse than keeping things in your own inventory. Any player could do practically the same thing by just taking items out and putting them into their pockets. As long as no console commands are used on them, and PVP is off, there's nothing you can do to get those items back.
Don't Starve Together should not be built around the prevention of griefers. We saw how badly that went with pre-rework Willow. 
You could argue the same thing against me wanting to be able to lock Woby, but I think adding in that ability would make Woby a much more personal storage space for Walter. Pretty much just a disjointed backpack. Chester and Hutch are up for grabs to anyone, and as such are very limited because of that. Prone to dying, can't travel between world shards, etc. 
Now that I think about it, they really aren't that great for a multiplayer setting like this. Woby is a great personal chest to have around, but the fact that you can't control whether people can steal from her or not is just something I can't get behind. It's essentially like being able to click on another player and have access to their inventory.

I play on Xbox, and on Xbox we are limited to a total of 6 players, you rarely ever see another player unless your on a headset or your all chilling out at base, but- I like Walter and Woby because they are good for the Nomad type lone wolf player like me.. 

I ALSO like them because they can be used for team work.. If another player wants to store stacks of wood in my Wobys stash, locking her would prevent that.

So what your asking for comes with its downsides.

I'm suggesting it be a toggle though, like a button in the menu to lock and unlock her at will.
If you want to share it on a team trip, leave her open,
If you're going to operate alone, close her up.

at least woby doesn't freeze in place like chester does when someone is looking into him, people who steal from chesters usually need a little time to figure out what they want. However i have learned over time to not put the most important stuff in there, because every now and then random noobs will loot him dry

Also carrying a telltale heart in woby could be a good way to be safe from death in pubs early game, and locking him would prevent that.
