I have new suggestion for you, I hope you like it! I would like another Island and more NPC's living on it (Very similar like Hamlet city), but on Island. *So in middle of Island is unfinished Town Hall building which you need to repair to begin quests. After you repair it, Mayor comes out from house and gives you permision to repair other buildings in town. *After you repair another construction in city, another NPC comes out from that house and let's you complete more quests. For each NPC in city you can do 3 or more quests. You can make more quests if you have more ideas than me! =D *After you complete all NPC's quests, each of them will give you (Coin of Thanks) which has only one use. If you give (<amount>) coins to Mayor he gives you Blueprint for house.(like Hamlet) Or any other blueprint. *For the quests, I think of some, but there's not that many, because I don't have more ideas. - Dig out grass, spiky bushes and remove all spiky trees. - Plant (<Amount>) of grass and saplings in garden. - Plant (<Amount>) of flowers near bees. - Plant and Fertilize (<Amount>) of Berry Bushes in garden. - Build (<Amount>) drying racks. - Build (<Amount>) farms. *For NPC's they can also be traders and you can sell diferent items them. Especially for the sandbox aspect of Don't Starve together maybe to revise idea it could be an abandoned sunken town underground, that has been lifted up from the constants moon falling down into the sea. The survivors find the newly risen land and decide to fix it up into a small trading market! Once people start building stuff on the island, few new and unique NPC or even pigman, Bunnymen, or even Merms could be found on the small island, and you could possibly trade unique stuff with them, for example maybe a hunchback cat that catches fish and sells it. Kind of like your own town simulator, it could also be something good for the base builders of the game like Glermz, I'd really like to see how people would do with this idea. I like the quest system you said before being to make sure the place looks nice! Wouldn't want to stay on a place full of trash and such everywhere. chirsg Posted May 21, 2020 Share Posted May 21, 2020 I don't even have to read your whole post to agree. I really want npc's or whatever in the game to have a more hamlet feel in the late game. I prefer building in the context of city planning rather than making mega bases. - addition: just give us hamlet turfs PLEASE! ConvexCaribou23 Posted May 21, 2020 Share Posted May 21, 2020 Don't get me wrong, your ideas are good, but I simply don't feel like they fit in DST, I'm not even sure I like the Crabby Hermit (Pearl), anyways I definetly think that one NPC is more than enough for DST. Let's not forget that DST is a survival game, of people that were trapped in a very strange and uncivilised place, and I don't see why there would be "people" as smart as the survivors, that origin from this place, or that were created by Maxwell that would have built an entire civilisation (except the ancients). Your idea is good, but I don't think they fit for DST, in a questing game it would be great, but not in a survival game. Also, the constant is supposed to be a wild place, where it is hard to survive, and I don't see DST having civilisation. Also, I don't feel like Hamlet is even part of the Don't Starve experiences, it feels strange and the graphics are very different in general, I'd rather have Klei make multiplayer Hamlet separate from the normal DST world, than to add things from Hamlet into DST directly, I don't mind the SW stuff though, it's cool that they add little things from SW in the RoT stuff, like Wobster for example. (This is only my opinion, and I totally respect yours, just to be clear ) I know, it feels wierd having NPC in Dst for first time, but I like it :) Mostly I'm playing solo and if there was more NPC's I wont have feeling that I'm alone in huge world =D I know DS story, but every game eventuly changes, for best or worse :) I play DS / DST for many years now and now for 2 years contiuned my solo megabase. I'm stuck on routine > Farm , kill bosses , basebuild and repeat.
