Sasza22
Supercoductive materials cause some real life engineering challenges. They need to be kept really cold to work. This the kind of design challenge we like in ONI. What if we got some sort of a machine that needs to be cooled below 100 K to work. If it produces heat as well it would require some serious active cooling. I was thinking what machine could require supercoductors but only some sort of super battery comes to mind as we don`t really use magnets in ONI. It should be a very expensive high capacity battery that doesn`t lose charge as long as it`s cold enough (but still produces heat so has to be cooled all the time). Maybe you guys have some other ideas for supercold stuff that could be used in our bases.
SharraShimada
Particle accelerator to make more advanced materials in small quantitys. They use super magnets.
Sasza22
Would be cool to have an accelerator for creating niobium or fullerene. Or maybe the molecular forge could require low temps to function.
meepmoop
I like this idea. Maybe when nuclear update/dlc drops by this could be implemented in it.
