High volume >10kg/s Petrol Boiler Designs?

Recommended Posts

Hey folks-

Has anyone seen a design capable for greater than 10kg/s? I’m playing on a buried oil map and want to build a 30kg/ monster.

in previous builds I’ve found a pipe-based counterflow heat exchanger to be most efficient, but for 30kg/s it’s going to be 6 tiles wide. Trying to think of a more space efficient way to process all dat crude

This might help you.  Using this method makes refining a lot easier, reliable and versatile over dripping your petrol into a heating chamber.

You can stack the conversion chambers either horizontally or vertically, with the overflow going into your heat exchangers or however you plan to cool the petrol.

You probably would get on better with the pumped version, as counter-flows tend to lend themselves to 10kg/s.  I can't see how a counter-flow would be adapted to the added input.  The most obvious solution is to use radiant pipes and have big blocks of metal with counter flow piping for the heat exchange.

My advice for you, what ever you build, You shouldn't be dripping your petrol into your conversion pools from above, if you are, you are doing it wrong.

There is an updated slightly better version that can be found on here, towards the end.
