Need help setting up Dedicated server for RoT

Recommended Posts

I've been able to set up dedicated servers in the past, but I can't seem to get it to work with RoT. I have changed the .bat file I use to start the server to include

c:\steamcmd\steamcmd.exe +login anonymous +app_update 343050 -beta returnofthembeta validate +quit

However, I get the cluster token error when I launch, though I have a cluster token in the RoT folder. I did re-use the cluster token from the old server, does this not work? The only reason I did this was that I can't generate cluster tokens anymore; whenever I try to run the console command it returns 'variable "GenerateClusterToken" is not declared'. What am I doing wrong?

Update:
I managed to properly generate a new cluster token and have placed this in C:\Users\<redacted>\Documents\Klei\DoNotStarveTogetherReturnOfThemBeta and then ran the server .bat file, but still get the invalid token error.

For the generated cluster token, I'm assuming that this was the command you used and that you're getting it from Klei/DoNotStarveTogether/<Folder with numbers>/ (i.e the same folder as where the cluster folders are located or something along those lines?

TheNet:GenerateClusterToken()

If that was what you did and it didn't work, try this instead:

1) Generate a new cluster token ID in-game via the command.

2) Go to https://accounts.klei.com/login and login via one of the options presented.

3) Click on the tab on the top that says "games".

4) Click Don't Starve Together Servers

5) Copy the top-most Cluster token, as that's the most recent one you generated,

6) Paste it into the right directory. For me, I used the guide the devs made for Windows.

The directory in question was this:

Klei\DoNotStarveTogetherReturnOfThemBeta\MyDediServer
