Flying critters should have a brain

Recommended Posts

Since they are harder to catch in early game, would be very nice that they stick with their source of food instead of flying around to death. I'd like to have puffs in combination with outhouse for example, I mean they shouldn't have a magnetic behavior so to speak, but when they get hungry to have a path to nearest source of food. Also shine bugs are annoying that they are just flying away in some corner of the explored map and die.

Hope it makes sense, I just feel they are too simple and can't even get their food that is obviously in their range.

Also would be a fun a mechanic to be scared of dupes and just run from them until they are tamed.

In theory they should stay close to their food source but in practice shinebugs tend to fly as high as possible and pufts just do whatever they want. I`m not sure what is their behaviour logic anymore. Best way to contain them early that i found is building pneumatic doors. Shinebugs will move towards your kitchen, bristle farm or nearby phosphorite source. Just make a door so they stay there. Trapping a puft in the bathroom doesn`t sound that bad either.

well, the index does say that the puft is very stupid.

Go away with your zombie spores.

Yea I haven't seen that index but if I am thinking about their face makes sense.
