Make food storage a part of cooking.

Recommended Posts

Storage food in a refrigerator is currently a supply errand.  This means my chef cooks a meal, then my gofer comes to store it in the refrigerator right next to the electric grill.  If food storage was an cooking errand instead of/in addition to being a supply errand, then my chef could store the food himself.

I don`t want my chef to stop cooking after every order to run all the way to the CO2 pit and back too cooking. That`s horribly inefficient. I want my supply dupes to handle the food storage on high priority so all food is swept all the time. I`m sorry but your suggestion would break my setup.

Simply placing a higher priority on your grill than your food storage means they'll cook until they can't, then store the food.  There's nothing inefficient about that.

My food storage is often at 8 to ensure all food is swept from the base and random meat doesn`t lay aound. This means my priorities are creeping too high with the grill getting to 9. Storing foos doesn`t require a dupe to be a chef. It`s the courier job. I prefer my couriers to do it.

Once upon a time it was also the courier's job to deliver ingredients to the grill.  But given that the chef is the one working with food, they figured it made more sense for the chef to deliver his own raw materials.  Why, then, is it unreasonable for the chef to also put away the finished goods?  The medic delivers medicine to the sick bay.  Why is a chef delivering food to a refrigerator so different?

I guess it might be me preffering all delivers to be done by couriers rather than specialists. I understand delivering to your workstation being same as the work priority since you can`t work with no ingredients. But once you start doing your job someobody else can handle the storage. I think storing food in fridges being a sweep priority makes it a bit more flexible. Otherwise i would have to bump the cook priority on my courier dupes to ensure they behave like i want them to (well that`s not too bad either, just less obvious).
