Ingridients could be washed.Like the grain but i doubt you want a watersoaked pepperbread so washing  the completed food is out of the question.

If you want "clean" food the best way to keep it germfree is to put it in a freezer inside a room full of CO² or chlorine.

PS.Poluted oxygen is the worst atmosphere  for food storage.

Is it possible to have a basin or something to wash food in? My people keep getting food poisoning from unwashed food and I don't know how to keep the food clean as disinfecting the food isn't an option.

Food will never rot if stored in CO2, Chlorine, H2 or Vacuum.

CO2 is the easier method and require no resources or tecnology: Just create a small pit somewhere and wait - eventually it will be filled with of CO2.

Chlorine is more complicated due special room requirements - it need an airlocked room, with gas pumps to remove all gases other than chlorine. The advantage of this method is germ desinfection - food will always have 0 germs.

There is ore scrubber that washes everything dupe carrying, I suspect that will include the food they carry. But just like everyone else mentioned, storing your food inside the chlorine chamber is a better solution.
