Tobruk
The game tries to convince me the telescope has 17% visibility and the scientist is using it, for whatever reason.
Iwhen
The telescope has reduced visability due to the closed bunker doores and the regolith on the side(it needs 5 titles in both directions from the most left block), they are still using it because you assigned them a task and they are completing it, but slower due to the reduced visability. The 17% should come from the one block on the left and the two blocks on the right but thats just a guess. Just a question on the side are there any blocks over the doors at the top? Sasza22
That`s interesting. Generally the telescope visibility is based on free tiles above it plus 5 to the left and 3 to the right (or was it 2?). There are still 2 free tiles to the right so maybe that`s where it`s comming from. Apparently it doesn`t care about walls along the way.
Nightinggale
There is one way of making sure the dupes won't use it while there is poor visibility. Just connect the telescope to the automation wire, which controls the doors. If you want the telescope to turn off later, add a buffer gate to set how long the delay should be. From an automation signal point of view, this task is trivial because you already have the signal you need.
