Have I miscalculated temp raise of Pwater through Metal refiner?

Recommended Posts

The equation is like this: change in Temperature = energy / mass * specific heat

So I plugged in the numbers: changeTemp = 67 000 J (as shown in Metal Refiner tooltip) / 800 000 g (the amount present in the Metal Ref. buffer) * 4,186 J/g/C

T = 67 J / 800 g * 4,186 J/g/C

T = 67 J / 3,348 J/C

T = 224 C

Now it seems unlikely the water will seriously gonna raise by that much.

Where have I made a mistake?

Since when specific heat capacity has temperature in its denominator :confused:

I guess it is easier to change temperature of a bigger chunk of material then. Let's put all the water in a single giant reservoir! Just cool it with an Ice fan. Ez heat management ;)
