cptCalavera
You can put them on the ground again to create a new spiders nest. So you dont run out of spiders and silk.
Shadoweangel
If you're an adventurous sort, with the mightiest of beards and pointiest of sticks you can even put them near your camps! Kill the night away!

Rifter1
You guys make base camps? I never thought of that, I just wander the world, and make sure every corner of every map is revealed. I keep lots of bedrolls, and go for the Tallbird island first. When I find the island that has the Tallbirds, (note: there is always a spider village there too), I usually go get pigs and exterminate those spiders. Then I hang out on Tallbird island, and collect tons of their eggs and cook them. Once I have those two things, I can travel for many days without needing to worry about food, fire, or anything. Excess
[...] the island that has the Tallbirds, (note: there is always a spider village there too)The maps are generated randomly for each player. You can even re-flush your world if you are bored of it.
