Give Winona Hunger Drain as Opposed to Hunger Penalty

Recommended Posts

Winona should have a hunger drain modifier instead of a penalty when she crafts. This way she'll still craft slower when hungry, encouraging players to keep her above half hunger, but the time it takes to get below half is much longer, and removes the excessive hunger cost of mass crafting.

This would definitely work, however it will make her con less "unique" as it would be the same as Wolfgang (and Wes somewhat, but Wes just has a lot of cons together so he doesn't count). I think they want to keep the characters different. Maybe keeping her as close as she was meant to be, with just a 1 or 2 hunger drain per fast craft instead of 5, would probably make it much more manageable.

This is a bit of a late reply (because of the recent update), but I wouldn't have had a problem with Winona losing this "uniqueness" one bit for this suggestion: it serves the same function, while being much less annoying.

Now she only loses hunger once after 1 minute of not crafting, so you can mass-craft for 5 hunger; but she still crafts slower than average when hungry (the hungry crafting time was also reduced though). Now the penalty is considerably weaker, to the point where it will probably go unnoticed by most people that are playing Winona for the first time. It went from hardcore to pillow fight real quick.

I still prefer this suggestion over this update as it makes more sense and is easier to measure by the player.
