Metandioksit
Why do the Dupes spend their free time in absurd spaces, expose them to stress, go to the room I set in their spare time or scatter into the rest rooms.
SharraShimada
The main cause is, they wont make it in time back to the base, and to recreational rooms. If they decide its not worth the try, they stay and idle. Its a matter of efficient path planing. They will go back, if they can reach it in time. So either make better ways (for example use firepoles, or tubes) or extend the off-time.

In their free time dupes always attempt to go to recreation rooms after they are done with eating and toilet stuff. They might not have enough time to do it but they never idle if they can`t reach in time. Dupes idle during work time if there is no work to do. They just stop in the place they finished their last job and wander around slowly. It would be more beneficial to them if they went to a recreation room with high decor and high oxygen levels. It`s something suggested many times already.

Only thing you can currently do is to have some hamster-wheels on prio 1 with no shutoff or maybe the mop-up farm (where water immediately goes back on the tiles) somebody suggested a few days ago. Something like a "job kiosk", "game table" or even simple "meeting point" would be very desirable. At least dupes currently seem to go back to base if in exo-suits before idling.
