To get started craft Waldo's house.The little guy will be stuck trying to get out, ( FREE HIM ) Waldo is able to pick all pickable products -(FLOWERS and FARM CROPS),scan the ground for objects to pickup and wear a hat.He doesn't do combat and can't be hurt from it.Once set free Waldo should be your friend for life.The little fellow can carry a lot of junk! To claim his spoils simply crack him over the head with a hammer hehehe Do the skull cracking with the spacebar! Waldo's house is craftable under the (Structures Tab)

Tip: I found when testing that Chester's Eye_Bone is better held by Waldo.

WOW! This looks really cool! I can't wait to try it out. I will leave you feedback letting you know my thoughts and if i catch any bugs. Great idea for a mod :)

Tried it

 

The house is invisible, but i'm able to hammer it to release him.

I release him at base so he harvest all my farms, which is a nice perk :-)

He does not follow me anywhere, i guess its a bug?

he also pick up everything on the ground (including several traps)

 

Suggestion;

 

being able to pick everything without limit is kind of OP and might be bothersome,

I suggest he have a small 4 inventory box where he can pick up items, once its full he stops

It works like a small inventory and we can click him to get the items

this way we can teach him what to pick by placing items in his inventory

 

eg. put 1 logs in each inventory and he will only pick up logs until his inventory is full

 

 

Great work and we need more mods like this

I LOVE the idea of this, very cool from how you build it to how it works.

 

ONE problem, everything works fine until I went to "open" him.  It took me a while for my character to chase him down so that I could get close enough to "open" him.  When I finally catched him and tried to open, he crashed my entire game.  Boo!

 

I do have a lot of mods running at the same time, I'll go through and disable them and add them all back one by one to see if that may be the case.  I will let you know what the results are and the names of any mods that I find out are definitely not compatible with this one.   

 

If it helps you troubleshoot any, I'm running Windows 8 and don't believe I gave the monkey a chance to pick anything up before I tried to open him, I was just excited and trying to see what all he would do.  I'm going to try again and see if he crashes if I wait until he picks things up to open his inventory, and THEN I'll try to hammer him instead opening to see if that works as a quick fix for now.

 

If none of the basic stuff like that help us figure out how to make it work again, I'll see if I get time within the next week or so to review your code and fix it for ya.

Dude, Holy crud. I found Waldo's kind in some weird cave after the first one. I thought they were friendly and harmless like Waldo, After a few minutes of running around with a group of them, they turned into shadow monsters and killed me and Waldo :'(. But it was awesome seeing them, I didn't think they existed.
